Upgrading Light System Engine gen5 from Firmware 2.0

Note: If upgrading Light System Engine gen5 from firmware version 1.9.5 or earlier, you must first upgrade to 1.9.6, then to 2.0.0, and then to the latest version.

To upgrade Light System Engine remotely from the LSM web page:

  1. Download the latest firmware file to your computer from www.colorkinetics.com/support/lsm/.
  2. Unzip the downloaded file.
  3. Login to the LSM Web interface and navigate to the 'CONFIG' tab
  4. Click on the 'UPDATES' link on the left menu
  5. Click on the 'Upload' link under 'UPDATES'
  6. Click on the 'Choose File' button and select the .pck file from the unzipped folder in step 2
  7. Click on the 'SAVE' button and wait for the upload to complete
  8. Click on the 'Reboot' link under 'UPDATES' on the left menu
  9. Click on the 'REBOOT' button and wait for the reboot to complete.

If Light System Engine successfully reboots, you have completed the upgrade procedure. You can verify the current firmware version under 'CONFIG' -> 'SETTINGS' -> 'ABOUT'

If Light System Engine failed to reboot, the upgrade was not successful. If this happens, you will need to recover your Light System Engine to the previous firmware version, as detailed in the Light System Manager User Guide.

Note: The Light System Engine copies all data from the current firmware version to the new firmware version.
